Hey Everyone!!

In October 2017, the BLUU Organizing Collective Board and Staff launched our first BLUU Survey! The survey helped us get to know more about you, our BLUU community, gauge your ongoing needs, and ensure that BLUU’s work and ministry was a reflection of those needs. It also offered a chance for individuals to share more about their life experiences as Black Unitarians, Universalists, Unitarian Universalists, and Black folx who may not claim UU as an identity and orientation, but who certainly share our values. In an effort to maintain integrity and honesty in every aspect of our work, and to truly be present for you and your needs in a consistent manner, the OCB and Staff made a commitment to put out a new survey every three or so years. And as we enter our fifth year in existence as an organization and growing spiritual family, we are delighted to share BLUU’s 2021 Survey below!

Like any good assessment tool, our 2021 Survey will help gather meaningful information and foster more transparency and accountability. Some of the questions will be the same or similar as the 2017 version; we did that on purpose to help gauge how things may have shifted in understanding and commitment. You’ll also find some new questions, reflective of changes in BLUU’s programming and in the world we live in.

As you’re making your way through this survey, know that our programming has been informed by you through the previous survey and our inaugural gathering at The BLUU Convening. Some things we've tried over the years have worked and some things didn’t work. Organizing and being in community across virtual and physical space is a challenge all unto itself. We do believe there are always lessons, never failures. The true measure of success in our work will always be the extent to which you are willing to co-create with us by sharing your thoughts, needs, and goals and then putting in the work with us as we move toward our collective liberation. We can only do it together. What we said in 2017 remains true - we CANNOT do this without you!

So lean into this moment with us! Take a few minutes after you’ve grabbed your favorite beverage and allow your heart, mind and spirit to tell us what we need to know in order to serve you better. The survey will be live for two months, so please complete it by June 1, 2021.
