Registrierung zum Workshop: Ethics & sustainability in design

🌿 Join us for an inspiring talk by Katcha Bilek, a renowned designer and multidisciplinary artist who strongly emphasizes ecological and social justice issues. 🌎 Having traveled widely - at one point in a fire engine that she converted herself 🚒 - and learning six languages, she is now based in Graz.

🎨 Her work in the creative field is as diverse as her travels. After working as a set designer for Bassline Circus, she founded her own eco-design company in 2007 in Bristol, where she not only produced award-winning fashion accessories, but also interactive art, sculptural lighting, and murals. 🖼️ During this time she worked for or with Banksy, Filthy Luker, and Arcadia Spectacular. Her work engaged with three crucial and interlinked concerns of our age – consumption, production, and waste. Using discarded industrial materials, she commented, often with humor, on issues within capitalist production culture, while keeping waste materials out of landfills. ♻️

⭐ Katcha will speak about:

1️⃣ Conscious living from a fashion context👗

2️⃣ Journey to becoming a fashion designer and entrepreneur: we are all individuals, and one cannot expect to follow a set pattern. Embrace your individuality 🚀

3️⃣ Inspiration through upcycling: the pros and cons of designing with and re-using materials.     ♻️

4️⃣ Activism in design: Ethics and sustainability are fundamental. 🌟

5️⃣ Relevance, purpose, and transparency in the superficial world of fashion: How can we make a change in an industry that has a reputation for frivolity? 💃

🎉 Don't miss this opportunity to gain insights, inspiration, and practical wisdom from a trailblazer in the field of sustainable design. Let's envision together a more ethical and sustainable future in fashion and beyond! 🌱
