2025 SOE Commencement Student Speaker Application
We at the UCR School of Education are excited to mark a milestone this coming June when we confer degrees to our undergraduate, graduate, and teacher credential candidates!  
PLEASE APPLY BY 5PM ON MARCH 28.

We invite you to apply for the following opportunities:
1. The SOE Student Speaker at the SOE/SPP Commencement Ceremony on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Toyota Center in Ontario, California.
2. The SOE Student Marshal at the SOE/SPP Commencement Ceremony on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 1:30 PM  at the Toyota Center in Ontario, California. 
3. The Student Speaker at the SOE Graduation Party, on Friday June 13 at 5 PM at the UCR Alumni and Visitors Center.

We are looking for students who are dedicated to SOE mission: to advance equitable educational systems and practices, driven by our core values of equity, evidence, excellence, community, critical thinking, and compassion. 

To be considered, the applicant must:
    • Be a degree candidate approved to walk at the 2025 Commencement
    • Demonstrate exceptional public speaking ability
    • Demonstrate a high level of involvement in the campus and the community at large

All applicants must be able to write a 3 minute speech in relation to pertinent issues in their field of study, while thinking about their work in the larger context of society.

All applicants will be given an audition where you will have the chance to preform your 3-minute speech  in front of a graduation committee. Please write down 2-4 notes or themes you would like to include in your speech.
