One of the best ways for kids to learn is by doing hands on projects. This workshop covers some ways of using the arts to explore science in interdisciplinary ways to help kids make connections about our world. We will do a couple of the projects that can be used in the classroom to explore science.

Our Speaker:

​Phoenix Artifex (they/them) runs Phoenix’s Curiosity Cabinet (www.phoenixscabinet.com), a business that offers hands on science and maker educational programs for all ages. Phoenix has been teaching hands on science for almost 25 years. Before starting Phoenix’s Curiosity Cabinet, they taught at places such at Youth Science Institute, Marine Science Institute, County Parks and worked with groups such as The Children’s Discovery Museum on programs that combined art and nature.
