Event Timing: 23 November 2022 12:00 UTC (via Zoom)
Events in the sky provide powerful outreach and engagement opportunities.
In recent years (particularly since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic)
many professional and amateur astronomy groups have begun (or
intensified) live streaming events such as eclipses and conjunctions.
While many of these efforts were initially aiming to provide sky
watching and science outreach opportunities during the confinement
conditions imposed by the pandemic, which hampered in-person visits to
observatories, in the long term they offer an opportunity to broaden
access to astronomical observations beyond the demographic groups that
have been traditionally engaged in these activities.
We want to facilitate discussions about how the astronomy
community can collaborate and capitalize on future astronomical events, share lessons and link with science, and outreach and education events.
Our session on 23 November builds on the initial disussions at EPSC2022 in Granada

The format will be interactive! We will ask participants to produce a one-slide overview of their work. Then we'll break into small groups to discuss particular questions, followed by group feedback and discussions.
We are also setting up a Slack group so that the discussion can continue off line. The recording of the session of 23 November will be added to the Slack channel, along with the introduction slides and the group feedback slides.
If you would like to be part of the event and/or the network, then please add your details below and we will add you to our mailing list.
We look forward to working with you!
