Food contest - 5 categories that you can register for:
Best Starter, Best Soup, Best Main Dish, Best Dessert, Best Beverage
The amount of food to be prepared: at least 20-30 small portions/pieces. 150-200 guests are expected to turn up.
1 team/country!
Guests will play an important role in voting for "Audience favourite" dish. :-)

Wonderful artistic performances of our students are most welcome. Dance, music, songs, juggling, magic, acrobatics :-) Please, register for this too, providing your technical requirements.

To assist you in the most organised way during the International Dinner and to get prepared, we need All chefs', helpers' and guests' registration for the event. Please, provide us as much information as you can. COUNTRIES (not students) can register from each campus. Cross-campus cooperation is suggested. Please, cooperate with your country fellows.

16:30 – Arrival of the chefs & helpers with their amazing creations
17:15 – The members of the Judge start food tasting.
17:45 – Entrance for all students
18:00 – Short opening ceremony with a Hungarian folk music performance
18:15 –19:45 – All students taste the wide range of delicious foods.
18:15 –19:00 – While tasting foods, audience watches MATE Stars’ performances
19:00 20:00  EUDRES Science Pub quiz
~20:45 – Announcing the winners and the distribution of prizes
~21:30 – Closing the event
Financial issues
ENTRANCE FEE:
- For registered chefs: Free
- For guests: 500 HUF

All chefs are entitled to bring one helper/dish for free, but only the registered helpers can come in before 17:45, so, please don’t forget to register!

International Relations Centre provides the chefs with financial support for the ingredients up to 10,000 HUF, ONLY IF you
ask for an invoice (“számla” in Hungarian) in the shop for the following name, address and tax number:

If you pay by credit/debit card, you will also have to keep the confirmation of payment about the transaction via your bank card (so, NOT the receipt).

Cultural aspects
Preferably, please, wear your national costume, or any traditional dress during the event! If it is not possible, an elegant dress or a suit is expected accordingly. NO jeans or T-shirts are accepted. Let's express solemnity with our clothing too.

Contestants are responsible for decorating their tables. Please take your country flag with you! Feel free to be creative: flowers, national symbols, national colours etc..

Please print out the NAME of foods you have prepared along with the CATEGORY you registered for. If you have no access to printing, or if you do not have your flag, do not hesitate to contact the International Relations Centre in your own Campus, your coordinators are eager to help you. Deadline for such requests: 12th November.

Media presence, a contribution to an International Recipe Book / Cuisine Calendar
Videos while cooking and during the event: We would like you to record the procedure of preparing your dish if possible.
A colleague from MATE Media Centre will accompany us during the whole afternoon and evening.  A short video will be made from the cutaway shots and interviews recorded during the evening. We need your consent to it in the registration form.

Recipe writing: Your recipes are required in a word-formatted document electronically to be sent to mate.internationalcentre@gmail.com . A template and a more specific description of the format will be sent to all registered chefs later.

The dorm kitchens are open to participants. Contestants cannot use the kitchen of the restaurant. In the restaurant, a microwave oven and a number of heating containers will be provided. Some employees of the restaurants will be there to help us. Clean plates, glasses and cutlery will be available for guests.

Student chefs should provide decoration and bowls, jugs, trays, platters, cake stands, etc. for serving their dishes.

Performers can count on music, microphones, loud speakers etc... However, we cannot provide musical instruments.
