Please read the following before continuing:

πŸ“ {What is a Panel?}

A panel consists of a stream or prerecorded video that will play from 30 minutes to an hour and a half. All panels for this convention are MSPA/Homestuck/Hiveswap related, or creatively adjacent to the franchise and it's elements. You could make an entire hour long panel about baking Betty Crocker cake, making music, or horses, for example. We're serious.

Panel genre's can range from Informational/How-tos, Entertainment, Games, or Roundtable/Solo discussions. Sometimes these can mix, or there may even be a type of panel idea you have that we haven't mentioned!

⚠ Panels focusing on demoing or directly showcasing projects will be discouraged - instead, we will be providing time on the Friday of the con weekend to demo short videos that directly showcase your projects, fanventures, games, etc.

Application for the Showcase: https://forms.gle/km8fymnw4QK2FHoJ8

You can still host a panel that involves a project, but the panel should be supported by the content of the project rather than being solely about the project (e.g. "How to code a visual novel" using your own visual novel as an example as opposed to showing a long-form gameplay demo and nothing else).

At the end of the convention we ask that all panelists archive their panels on their Youtube, Twitch, or through the SAHCon Youtube channel so they are watchable after the event is over! Let us know if you need help recording a streamed panel if you are unable to make arrangements to record.

πŸ“ {Stream Panels, Prerecorded Panels, Discord Panels}

Stream Panels - Panels that are streamed live through sites like Twitch.TV, Picarto, and Youtube.

Prerecorded Panels - Panels that are recorded ahead of time and then played during the convention through a scheduled Youtube premiere.

Discord Panels - STRICTLY FOR AUDIO-FOCUSED PANELS. If a panel has connection issues or the host needs an easier access to running their panel, they can ask for this. These panels take place in special discord voice channels in our server, where the panel host is the only one able to talk.
(PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A HARD CAP OF 100 PEOPLE IN A DISCORD CHANNEL - SO HIGH-VOLUME PANELS SHOULD PROBABLY OFFLOAD TO YOUTUBE OR TWITCH)

If asked, panels may be uploaded on our Youtube, either during the convention for a scheduled prerecorded panel, or after the convention to archive stream panels.

πŸ“ {Regarding Panel Lengths}

To refrain from having too many panels overlapping each other and to give more accessibility to regular panelist applicants, we are asking that panels that exceed past an hour only do so if needed. Panels past an hour don't have to go on for the full time selected, but keep in mind to plan accordingly. If panelists wish to continue past their time, please be aware that this will be on their own schedule and will not be supported by SAHCon staff or promoted on the SAHCon server.

πŸ“ {Internet Connections}

We ask that panelists check their connection and bandwidth settings in advance, preferably before the application deadline, and before starting their panel on the date of the convention. Depending on the situation we may not allow extended time to a scheduled panel despite internet issues; this is so we can avoid a pile up of simultaneous panels.
