The Kids BBQ cook off is open to youth between the ages of 8 and 13. A grown-up must be with the youth participant at all times during cooking to keep them safe; however, the youth participant should be responsible for prepping, seasoning, cooking, and presenting their entry. Guidance is required, but the youth participant should be allowed to be the Head Cook.
   There will be two age groups: Junior (8 to 10) and Senior(11-13)
   The participant will cook three (3) pork chops for competition. Two (2) of them will be handed in for judging. All competition pork chops, grills, and hot charcoal will be provided. All participants will cook on the same type of pit and use the same type of charcoal. Participants must bring their own utensils, condiments, and seasonings.
   Pork chops may not contain decorations, stuffing, or additional items. Rubs and sauces must be cooked on; no additional sauce and may be added once the pork chop is placed in the turn and tray. No pooling of sauces or liquids may be in the tray. Pork chops may not be marked in any way with the exception of Grill marks. They may be lightly trimmed before, but not after cooking. They must be submitted in the provided turn in tray and foil provided must remain in the tray under the pork chops.      
   Entry forms will be available at the sign in table in the Kids Cook-off area under the trees on 11th St. near the gazebo around 4:30 PM. There will be a cooks meeting at 6 PM and turn and will be at 7:30 PM. Prizes will be awarded to the top winners following the judging  

Safety rules
.        Youth participant and grown-up partner must listen to the cooking official at all times.                            
.        An adult must accompany each participant at all times or he or she will be disqualified.
.        If the cooking official tells participant and or grown-up partner to stop doing something, STOP.
