Fulham Cross Girls’ School is pleased to announce our 2021-22 season of transition sessions for Year 5s across the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. We have a wide variety of sessions on offer that are sure to get your students engaged and excited about transitioning to secondary school.

In this session we will learn about colours and shapes in Spanish through songs and games. We will then explore the colourful work of Spanish-speaking artists from all over the world and become art critics by giving our opinions on their work in Spanish.

Become and International Francophone Chef
In this session we will learn all about foods from French speaking countries all over the world. We will learn about famous dishes and find out exactly how to make them so that you can become your own chef at home! Arrangements permitting, we may even make some food during the session!

The Skill and Fitness Challenge
In this session we will work with our Year 10 sports leaders to undertake a skill and fitness challenge to test ourselves to the limit and have some fun along the way.

Tealight Candle Holder Workshop
In this session we will learn about Design Technology at secondary school. We will learn about the health and safety considerations of being in a school workshop and will get the opportunity to use basic woodworking hand tools and machinery to make a candle holder to take home.

Secondary School Science Skills
In this session we will work in a Science Lab to learn about the skills necessary to be a Scientist in a secondary school. We’ll conduct some awe inspiring experiments and use the equipment.

In this session we will work in the Art studio using different art mediums to express ourselves and explore our own identities.

Join a practical workshop using drama skills to learn about EMPOWERED women throughout History.

Secondary Ready for Y5 and 6
What is it like at secondary school? What should you expect? Let’s get you ready and feeling excited! In this special session, our Year 7 Mentor will give students an introduction to Year 7 at Fulham Cross Girls’ School and what to expect transitioning into secondary school. This session is aimed at generating excitement for the students’ next steps and easing any concerns that they might have.
