Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Pre-Health Global Brigades Chapter at the University of Maryland, College Park! PHGB is a student-led organization committed to serving health necessities to under-resourced communities and building sustainable development across the world. Our work consists of annual summer trips to different under-resourced communities to assist local teams in providing necessary care and resources to communities with otherwise limited access.

Our brigade for this year is scheduled for June 18th-24th, 2023 in Greece. During this time, we will volunteer at a refugee center and assist in delivering health services alongside community health workers. Volunteers will shadow physicians and other workers in order to achieve a higher understanding of health services. Volunteers will also learn about sustainable development and interpersonal skills.

In order to be considered a chapter member, individuals must complete the following duties:

-Complete this application by December 2nd
-Attend our "Information Session" GBM
-Attend at least 2 other GBMs during Spring Semester
-Attend at least 2 fundraising events (*3 if you are attending the brigade) each school year

PLEASE NOTE
**If you cannot fulfill any of the stated requirements, please give sufficient notice and explanation to a member of E-board in order to be excused.
**Attending the brigade is not a requirement for being a chapter member! You must be a member to volunteer in a brigade, but not all members are required to attend the brigade, there will be a section within the form dedicated to whether you would like to attend the brigade as well. Additional information about the brigade will be sent to each applicant.


Upon completion of this application our board will review responses and email decisions shortly after the deadline. Member applications only need to be submitted once per school year.
