This form is to help weed through initiatives that are brought to SSMN BOD's attention. It is to help further define and categorize an initiative before the SSMN board of directors approves it.

Description of Initiative
An initiative to begin an emphasis on children's education and a collaboration with older student groups already in existence.

By engaging youth, there is more hope for the future. Youth can be a motivator for older people. Learning young and developing good habits brings potential for a cleaner, greener future.

How does it promote sustainability?
It promotes sustainabiity by generating knowledge and then practices that mitigate and/or adapt to the changes in our climate.
Sustainability is the capacity to endure in a relatively ongoing way across various domains of life. In the 21st century, it refers generally to the capacity for Earth's biosphere and human civilization to co-exist.

I think the "kick-off" has already started with the why workshop's main takeaway that we are doing this work - FOR THE CHILDREN , then the spring appeal with the same theme, and discussion on the fall fundraiser having a similar theme. This would be an ongoing project and a very important part of SSMN.
