Balkans - Ukraine Cooperation Network (BUCN) is an informal network of partners working together to expand cooperation and collaboration between different sectors in Ukraine and Balkan countries in accordance with the Join Civil Society Declaration on the Western Balkans - Ukraine Cooperation.
BUCN's membership
An organization/group qualifies to be a BUCN
full member if it meets the following criteria:
- Indicate an in-depth understanding of the Joint Civil Society Declaration on the Western Balkans-Ukraine Cooperation and state a commitment to it
- Has origins and is located in the Western Balkans countries or Ukraine
- Has autonomy/independence to respond to local needs
- Has expertise in sectors relevant to the growth and expansion of the Network
An organization/group qualifies to be a BUCN
associated member (non-voting members) if it meets the following criteria:
- Indicate an in-depth understanding of the Joint Civil Society Declaration on the Western Balkans-Ukraine Cooperation and state a commitment to it
- Has origins and is located in countries of the wider Balkans region
- Has autonomy and independence for the responding to local needs
- Has expertise in sectors relevant to the growth and expansion of the Network
Individuals qualifies to be a Network associated member if he/she meets the following criteria:
- Indicate an in-depth understanding of the Joint Civil Society Declaration on the Western Balkans-Ukraine Cooperation and state a commitment to it
- Has a strong interest in expanding cooperation between Ukraine and Western Balkans
- Has expertise in one or more sectors relevant to the growth and expansion of the Network
How to become a BUCN member
Organizations or individuals interested in becoming members of the network
shall be nominated and seconded by existing members.
A membership application form shall be completed and used to process the membership
The Coordination Committee shall approve the membership pending the ratification of the decision by the General Assembly.
The admittance of new members has to be ratified by a simple majority of the votes of the Members.
