MUSICAL ATTENDANCE COMMITMENTS

Attendance for all rehearsals and performances is mandatory.  Leaving early or coming late are not acceptable, unless previously arranged.  Only the conflicts listed at the time of auditions will be honored.

If a student stays home sick from school and cannot attend, this must be communicated with the adult running rehearsal that day.  Communication through other students is not acceptable.

Any additional conflicts may result in the removal from a scene or removal from the show.

By responding below you are stating the following:

I have checked all the dates on the rehearsal schedule and they are on my calendar. I am available to attend all scheduled rehearsals and performances. I understand that events may be added in the future and I should always be available Monday-Thursday after school. I understand that these policies are in place for the good of the group as we strive for excellence in our performance.

THEATRE RESPONSIBILITIES

I understand that once I am cast in the show, I will not make any alterations to my appearance.  I will discuss any potential changes with my director.

I will make sure I come to each rehearsal fully prepared with all of my necessary items including pencils, scripts, props, necessary dance shoes, and any additional costume pieces that I am in charge of.

I will respect the chain of command in a theatre production in order to put on the best show possible. I will listen to the instructions of the stage managers and directors.

I understand that as a cast member in this show, my responsibilities extend beyond that of an actor; I will provide technical help when needed, assist in clean up, and work to create a safe and collaborative environment amongst the cast and crew.

I will use my time wisely during downtime (rehearsing, or doing homework.) I will not be distracting or disruptive to those rehearsing. I will let the stage manager know when leaving the rehearsal space.

I will not use my cell phone except during breaks. Cell phones should not be onstage during rehearsal.

I understand that as a cast member, I need to be quiet and respectful backstage as it is distracting to the actors on stage to focus with noises backstage. If I am asked to be quiet backstage, I will be respectful and cooperate.

I will not sit on any scenery or touch props that I do not use in the show.

I will come to rehearsal ready to work and be focused on the activities for the day.

I understand that all rehearsals are mandatory and failure to attend a rehearsal may result in the removal of my role or dismissal of the show. If I miss a rehearsal due to illness or pre-approved conflict, I understand that it is my responsibility to learn blocking, choreography, and music on my own to be prepared for the next rehearsal. Failure to do so may be cause to be removed from the scene.

I understand that any inappropriate social media posts or comments are grounds for dismissal from that cast.

I will be respectful to all members of the cast, crew, and production team.

I will provide the director with any schedule conflicts on my audition form.

I will stay for the entire set strike after the closing performance, which may be several hours after the performance ends.  I will not leave until dismissed.

I will not leave the building during any time during rehearsal or performance.

I will be responsible for providing shoes, tights, undergarments and any other costume pieces the show requires.

Each cast member is required to pay a participation fee. The participation fee for this production is $75.00 for high school students and $50.00 for middle school students. This includes the fee for the cast party.  The fee is due by November 20, 2023.  Payments can be made via check payable to Mercy High School or by cash. Receipts will be given when payment is received. There are no refunds for the participation fee should students withdraw or be removed from the show. Students may choose to purchase a shirt/sweatshirt for an additional fee.

Bullying or any other behaviors deemed inappropriate by the production team are grounds for removal from the show.

Moral Turpitude / EAC Statement:

Students are to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects integrity and respect for their teacher, their fellow classmates and Mercy High School. No derogatory or denigrating comments or behavior directed toward others will be tolerated, whether it is in print, verbal, or via Internet, email, chat, or through social networking sites. This includes statements or actions regarding gender, race, class, sexual orientation, religion, age, culture, ethnicity, belief, or ability. Violations of this policy will result in disciplinary consequences.
