Clarification on Age Categories and Scholarship Recipients:
We group participants primarily by age, as well as by the number of entrants in each category. This ensures a manageable number of participants for the judges at any given time. For larger categories, we may split them into two separate audition times. Conversely, smaller categories might be merged and held concurrently.
Our adjudicators are asked to evaluate each singer based on their specific age range and skill level. For instance, a non-professional adult singer will be assessed differently compared to an adult actively pursuing or holding a music degree. Last year, there was some misunderstanding among participants who felt they were being compared to others who were not in their skill level or age group. We want to assure you that comparisons are made within each singer's designated category, not between different groups auditioning at the same time.
*Master Class/Workshop Details:
We are excited to announce a masterclass/workshop scheduled between the conclusion of the adjudication process and the start of the finalist concert.
Selected participants for this session will be nominated by their respective adjudicators and will be informed of their nomination on the afternoon of the event. The workshop is planned to begin around 4:30 PM, though the exact time may vary depending on the length of the audition day. (So please plan to attend whether nominated or not.)
We warmly invite all students, teachers, parents, and family members to attend as audience members. Additionally, this invitation extends to those who did not participate in the day's auditions. This complimentary event, sponsored by NATS, offers an opportunity for everyone to gather, enjoy insights from our special presenter, and support fellow students in a welcoming and enjoyable setting.
This will take place in Schroeder Hall (SSU, GMC).
*Finalist Concert Information:
For those in contention for scholarships, our judges will select 10-12 exceptional performances from the day, representing a balanced mix of all genres and age groups. These chosen performers will showcase their talents in an evening recital open to an audience. At the end of the concert, we will announce and award the scholarship prizes.
The concert is set to take place at Schroeder Hall (SSU, GMC). We invite family, friends, all participants, and teachers to join us as audience members. Admission is free. The concert is scheduled to start around 6:30 PM, although the exact time may depend on the length of the adjudication process earlier in the day.
