February 27, 2024 - Shaping Futures

On Tuesday, Feb 27, 2024 at 6pm -7:30pm, we will be hosting a speaker Olliver Dyens (https://www.ollivier-dyens.com/

) to discuss AI (artificial intelligence). Event will be in person and live streamed. Light dinner and drinks will be provided. JS Principal Pascal Vallet will be co-hosting. Professor Ollivier Dyens is Founder and co-Director of Building 21, an open lab dedicated to rethinking higher education in the 21st century. 

From 2013-2018, he was Deputy Provost (Student Life and Learning) at McGill University where he is currently Full Professor in the Département des littératures de langue française, de traduction et de création.

Ollivier Dyens is the author of twelve books including La Condition inhumaine, published by les Éditions Flammarion in Paris, and Metal and Flesh: The Evolution of Man, Technology Takes Over, published by MIT Press.

He was a guest speaker at the Parson School of Design, at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City, at the Maryland Institute College of Art, at the Centre Européen de Technoculture, at Ars Electronia, at the Digital Humanities Summer Institute, at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, etc.

Do you need childcare? Childcare will provide light dinner for the children as well as supervised activities while parents participate in the lecture. There will be a nominal fee of $10  per child for childcare as it's provided by a TH student club fundraising for its charitable purposes.
