Recess Duty Volunteers 2024-25
We are looking for parent volunteers for this upcoming school year. While the teacher has his/her lunchbreak, parent volunteers will assist with monitoring of the students during recess. An SPC staff member will also be present during recess time.

  • All homerooms within a grade level have the same recess time and location whether is be outside, or in the gym. Occasionally, recess may take place in the classroom due to inclement weather.

  • Currently, you do not know your child(ren)'s classroom assignment, so we are just asking for a commitment as to which day and grade level you would be available to assist with.

  • Plan for 11:30-12:30 as general recess times, but exact times will be communicated at the beginning of the year.

Lastly, there will be a required Recess Training for all supervisors. You will receive a separate email with a link to sign up for one of the sessions. ALL volunteers must be Virtus approved prior to starting Recess Duty. Summer is a perfect time to log into your Virtus account and make sure everything is up to date.

However, 7th/8th have an earlier recess time that does not overlap with other grades, so a parent could do 7th, or 8th in addition to another grade. All other grades have recess at the same time. *
