The American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM) is seeking 12 adults to be model patients during 6 hands-on ultrasound workshops during live courses at the 29th Annual Scientific Assembly in New Orleans, LA on April 21-25, 2023. AAEM will pay live models for their time during workshops which provide hands-on ultrasound skill training for physicians to learn the basics and understand scan proficiency.
AAEM will offer multiple hands-on courses covering focused medical scans of vascular, abdominal, echocardiography (heart), and musculoskeletal (leg/arm) areas. Sessions usually run for 40 minutes to up to 4 hours during conference. Personal protective equipment will be provided to models.
Who Should Apply?
This opportunity is a rewarding benefit for college or medical students interested in the medical field (future physicians, medical assistants, nurses, physical therapists, and/or other medical specialties) to learn about the human body, earn easy extra cash, and network with physicians from throughout the globe. We are looking for a minimum of 12 individuals to assist with ultrasound courses by serving as a patient model. Models are welcome (and encouraged) to sign up for multiple sessions.
Please note: AAEM expects models to arrive on time and be prepared for the course (see instructions). Models will receive a stipend at the end of the workshop. Completion of a W-9 is required to receive stipend.

Non-Ultrasound Model Opportunity - Joint Reduction Mastery

We
will be practicing how to reduce elbows, shoulders, and hips. For this session,
models will serve as the patient and physicians will show you and the other participants how to perform reduction techniques for each strategy. Body regions included in the training are arms and legs (including hips).
