2023 Trans Day of Visibility Interviews
TransPonder is inviting members of our trans and gender diverse community (along with a small group of allies) to participate in a month-long celebration of the beauty of trans and gender diverse people. Each participant will be interviewed and photographed as part of this campaign and the video interviews will be released daily from March 15th to April 15th.

INTERVIEW SESSIONS
Interview sessions will be scheduled between January 31st and February 15th (interviews may continue longer based on the number of signups.) A variety of times will be available to allow for the maximum amount of participation available and accommodations are available. Sessions will be an hour long, but may end early depending on the time needed for the interview and portrait process. Published videos will range from 3-4 minutes (short form on social media) to 10-30 minutes (long form on YouTube.)

Folks are also welcome to participate with other people. For example, we are happy to interview a couple together or parent(s) and child(ren).

INTERVIEW QUESTIONS (TRANS/GENDER DIVERSE FOLKS)
Each participant will be asked to answer the same questions to create a sense of continuity to the videos. The questions are:
  • What is your name?
  • What is your age?
  • What is your gender identity?
  • What are 3 words or terms that describe you? (i.e. artist, cook, dancer, etc.)
  • What does being trans/gender diverse mean to you?
  • What does visibility mean to you?
  • What would you like the world to see and know about you?
  • How has the work and presence of TransPonder affected you and/or your loved ones?
  • If you could give a message to trans and gender diverse kids, what would it be?

ACCESSIBILITY
It is extremely important to us that there be no barriers between our community and participation in this project. We are happy to work with each individual on accommodations to make sure that everyone interested can participate. Accommodations may include: translation services, virtual interviews, written interviews, location changes, etc. Please use the accommodations section to let us know what you need!

Each participant will be required to complete a photo and video release that gives explicit permission for TransPonder to use the contents of the video interview process and the photography session for this TDOV campaign, as well as future fundraising or marketing needs.
