The Chronicon Community Sliding Scale Scholarship Application

Thank you for your interest in being a member of The Chronicon Community! I created this company through my own lived experience of battling the isolation and pain that is all too palpable when living with a chronic illness, let alone multiple chronic conditions. This community was built to go against the narrative that I was often told when navigating my health. I created it to show others that we are so much more than our health struggles can make us feel that we are.

Before filling out the application please consider the following:

I made the cost for The Chronicon Community less then $1.00 a day to make it as accessible for as many folks as possible. Before filling out this application please be sure that you are doing it out of financial necessity and not because of an emotional or personal reason. We are often not taught to pay for our well-being or emotional joy in the way we are taught to pay for material items and other aspects of life. I just ask that you examine this clearly before you apply. With that being said, I have personally been unable to afford $25/month for things due to health expenses and being out of work in my past. If you are experiencing financial hardship, it is an honor to support you in this way and I welcome you to apply.

As a part of our review process we prioritize folks on disability, people who are unable to work due to their health, people who are under financial distress due to their medical expenses, and those who experience marginalization due to being members of the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities. If this is you and you would like to indicate any of this on your application, I welcome you to do so.

I am excited to welcome folks who are ready to exist in a world where we take up space with our strength, we celebrate every single win even if society forgets to, and we don't have to do it alone. If you're ready for that too, please continue to fill out the below application.

We understand that financial resources are not always available, but are you committed to sharing other resources with our community if you join? That looks like showing up to at least an event a month, encouraging other members with engagement and sharing the community with people in your life! These scholarships are limited so we ask that you show up fully if you want access to this opportunity. *
The emotional safety of this community is a top priority for us. While there are plenty of spaces that encourage commiseration, allow for trauma dumping and truly focus on the heartbreak and hardship of what it is like to live with a chronic illness, Chronicon was designed to do the opposite. While we honor and acknowledge the challenges, we also believe that what most of us need is a space to celebrate, experience joy and be witnessed for all that we are.
