The Program
The Lyricist Lounge Rhyme Sketch Program, which was created and developed by Lyricist Lounge Media Group, will be launched in partnership with University Settlement as a vehicle for professional creative development and social change. 12 performers between the ages of 18 and 26 years old will be selected through an application / audition process. Over three months (April - July 2019) the selected performers will be trained and mentored to collaboratively develop, create and perform unique rhyme sketches based on global issues and local challenges facing their community. Upon program completion, the group will perform their completed rhyme sketches at three different venues. With the support of University Settlement, the goal is to give young artists the space to grow creatively and intellectually and a platform to share perspective, authenticity and emotional intelligence.
