Hey! Thanks for applying to be a mod of /r/polandball. Over the last 11 years, we've grown an amazing, diverse and engaged community – in no small part thanks to the hard work of many different mods from many different countries. We're looking for more cool and dedicated community members to join our ranks.
While we're keen to grow the modteam, let's get something out of the way first: modding is mostly thankless, invisible work. If you are applying because you want a nice role colour, or want "status" or special access to mod chats, then you are applying for the wrong reasons. We're looking for people who are active members of the PB community who really care about the community who want to "give back" and help this silly art form and the people who love it continue to thrive, like we do.

Your responsibilities will involve:
Daily (or as often as possible):
- Responding to approval requests with approval, rejection, or requests for changes. You should leave thorough and thoughtful responses for all non-shitpost requests.
- Regularly reviewing the subreddit for rulebreaking posts and comments, and approving or removing them according to subreddit rules
- Responding to mod questions related to your subreddit in modmail, the subreddit itself, r/polandballcommunity, and the official Polandball discord server
Monthly or less frequently:
- Brainstorming contest themes each month with your fellow mods
- Creating contest announcements, voting on entries, and running pre-existing scripts to tally up the votes (no need to code it yourself; just run what is already there)
- Keeping wiki pages about contests, rules, etc. up to date manually
- Occasionally updating subreddit appearance (backgrounds and sidebar) as needed
- Assist in running the annual world map project
- Assist in running the annual calendar project
And you will be responsible for moderating the following subreddits:
- r/Polandball
- r/PolandballCommunity
- r/Planetball
You will not be expected to do every single one of these things personally, and specifically the monthly and less frequent events are mostly already covered by other mods who have chosen to be dedicated event mods. But you will at least be expected to attend to the daily tasks on a regular basis.
