The YMCA Youth Conference on National Affairs (CONA) is held in Black Mountain, North Carolina. The conference is an assembly of Youth in Government participants from around the country who are selected by their home states to write and debate proposed solutions to problems both national and international in scope. There are two program areas to choose from: the General Assembly (legislative) and the Press Corps. More information on the event can be found at ymcacona.org.

All Wisconsin CONA delegates will be required to attend a retreat for our state delegation.

Code of Conduct Agreement
As a participant in the Wisconsin Delegation to the YMCA Youth Conference on National Affairs, I realize that such a privilege involves certain responsibilities. I understand the expectations set before me in the Wisconsin Youth in Government Code of Conduct and all other rules and regulations exist for the good of the program. I further understand that if my conduct does not meet these standards, I relinquish the right to opportunities afforded to me by the YMCA Youth Conference on National Affairs and the Wisconsin Delegation and that I will be returned home at my own or parent’s expense immediately.
CONA 2020 Deadlines
CONA applicants will be notified by Saturday, April 4 whether they have been accepted as  part of the delegation or as an alternate. The remainder of the program deadlines are listed below.

April 11, 2020 | CONA delegate conference call; registration forms & online registration (Regy) due. $100 deposit due.
April 26, 2020 | CONA retreat #1 in Manitowoc (draft proposal due)
May 1, 2020 | Initial payment due ($400, or $800 for full payment)
May 6, 2020 | Proposals due to be completely submitted through Regy
May 17, 2020 | CONA retreat #2 in Eau Claire
June 15, 2020 | Program fees paid in full
