Research shows that helping professions such as counselors and therapists suffer from high rates of professional burnout. The tendency of counselors to focus exclusively on the problems of others account for the high rates of stress, substance abuse, depression and even suicide in the field. In addition to the personal ill effects of burnout, providing poor treatment for clients as a result of burnout can be considered unethical. This session will help you to:
