We love our Art Educators at CCS! CCS is offering four different professional development workshops for art educators. The workshops will be provide live over zoom on February 17th, 1-3:30pm. Each participant can earn 2.5 SCECH points (pending approval).
Each participating school district can invite their art staff to select which workshops work best for them. Smaller districts can send up to 15 art educators for $150. Larger school districts can send 16 or more art educators for $200. Once a school district representative signs up, links will be sent to the representative allowing teachers to sign up for their preferred workshop.
Individual teachers can register independent of their school district for $15.

Each art educator can choose between the following workshop options:
STEAM in the Art Classroom
Learn how to incorporate Science, Technology, Engineering and Math into your Visual Arts practice. This workshop will include material experimentation (with items commonly found in the art room), group discussion, content differentiation options and personal practice to create two finished projects. Teachers will also walk away with several tested lesson plans in each area of STEAM to try out with your students.

Technology: Stop Motion Animation
Used alongside traditional art materials and techniques, technology can enrich student learning experiences in art. Learn how to introduce and properly execute a fun and engaging project such as stop motion animation, using only an app on your phone or tablet and basic classroom supplies. This workshop will include live demonstrations and group participation.

Intro to Design Thinking
Learn the essential skills needed to approach creative problem solving and about the steps of the Design Thinking process. This fun and interactive workshop will invite teachers to participate, practice and reflect throughout a hands-on design challenge.
