Master Madrichimot Application
At Temple Beth Shalom, we empower and depend on our teenagers to work alongside the educators in our learning programs as madrichimot (teacher assistants). The Madrichimot program begins in 8th grade and goes through 12th grade. Each year, as madrichimot gain experience and skills, they are given more responsibility and new opportunities for leadership.
We are excited to offer a designation that recognizes excellent performance and advanced skills: Master Madrichimot.
Opportunities:
Teens who earn the "Master Madrichimot" designation will have new opportunities available to them at TBS, including:
-Working as counselors in our Mayim/Jr. Etzim Outdoors Program;
-Subbing as educators in our Mayim program;
-Leading a Hebrew Group or providing 1:1 Hebrew instruction;
-Becoming a certified Assistant Teacher through the Department of Early Childhood and Care (EEC);
-Adding responsibilities as Madrichimot (e.g., planning parts of lessons, taking a sub-group of kids to learn, etc.).
-Mentoring a fellow teen
-Serving on the leadership team for special events (e.g., Touch a Truck, Drive the Exodus)
Benefits:
Teens who earn the "Master Madrichimot" designation will also receive:
-A higher pay rate
-A TBS building fob
Qualifications:
To earn the "Master Madrichimot" designation, teens must:
-Be a Junior or Senior in High School;
-Have at least two years of experience in the TBS Madrichimot program;
-Receive a recommendation from a TBS educator who can vouch for their work;
-Demonstrate the following qualities:
-Demonstrate the following qualities: Presence, Maturity, Initiative/Leadership, Problem-Solving, Responsibility/Reliability, Timeliness, Excellent Communication, Positive Attitude, Joyful Presence with Children
