BOAC Volunteer Application Form – June
Hey Volunteers,

We've organised another weekend camping trip for our teen boys, but this time it's in a NEW LOCATION and on a LONG WEEKEND!! There's a bunch of new and exciting things for this camp, but like always we need some incredible volunteers to make it special – if you'd like to be considered for a spot on this camp please complete the application form below :)

When:
Friday 7 - Monday 10 June
Starting times: TBA (roughly 3pm at Mulgoa or 4:30pm at Glenworth Valley)
Finishing times: TBA (roughly 11:30am at Glenworth Valley, or 2pm at Mulgoa)

Pre camp meeting will occur either Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday evening of the week before camp.

This BOAC is for MALE PARTICIPANTS (aged 13 - 15), but male AND female volunteers will be joining us!

The boys will be collected around 4:30pm from Mt Druitt Station, then we'll head off to Glenworth Valley, where the rest of our group will have set up. We'll have dinner and chill out til bed.

Our activities for the weekend will include team building, sports, kayaking, abseiling, bush walking, bike riding and more. The evenings will consist of card games, spotlight, and other fun activities, before the boys join us for a short nightly review. We'll all have to pitch in with cooking and cleaning up from all our meals, which is loads of fun!

Where:
Glenworth Valley – all staff, participants and volunteers will be accommodated in tents with camping mattresses and sleeping bags (all provided by ERC). The campsites will be unpowered, but the campground has hot showers, toilets, BBQs and pure drinking water. ERC has reserved a BBQ and quick shade area.

Who:
For this BOAC program, we are looking for 8 - 10 volunteers. We will require volunteers with first aid qualifications, bronze medallions and ERC reporting officer training. We are also looking for expressions of interest for CET roles (Facilitator).

Why is there an application form, instead of the usual sign up form?
- We've had high interest in BOACs
- There are limited volunteer places, therefore not everybody can attend
- We require some skilled and qualified volunteers to help produce the most successful camp

So, what are we looking for in a volunteer?
- Volunteered on an ERC week-long program before
- Qualifications which will be useful on a BOAC: First Aid, Bronze Medallion, etc.
- Useful skills for an outdoor program, e.g. experience in fishing and ability to teach others, etc.
- Proven skills on previous camps, e.g. great kitchen coordinator, showed leadership skills running an activity, etc.

Please continue onto the next section to apply for this weekend program.

Unfortunately, this is a very small program, and we can't take everyone who is interested.
If you are not selected for this BOAC, don't be disheartened – just apply for the next one when it opens!

*Please note, as part of this program you will be required to sign a disclaimer from Glenworth Valley in order to participate in the Kayaking and Abseiling activity.
