Matua School runs a Gobsmacked Production every two years. This is part of our Arts Curriculum and provides an authentic opportunity for students to participate in a quality show. While each student contributes a small part, the learning process that leads up to the shows enables everyone to dip their toes into the performing arts - which will hopefully spark new passions for many.
As a school we choose to use Gobsmacked to lead and produce the show. This enables the show to be delivered in a compact period of time (approx. 4 weeks). When schools self-manages this (runs a show without Gobsmacked), the process generally takes a whole term. The use of Gobsmacked also allows classroom teachers to keep their main focus on teaching the core subjects (Reading, Writing and Mathematics) during the lead up to the show.
Thank you for completing this short survey. We appreciate your feedback on how our goals for growing the Performing Arts at Matua School are supported by the production process.
