As many of you know,  Seattle Public Schools has decided to take their schools online for the 2020-2021 academic year. Schools have been required to organize distributing school supplies and lunches to students across the city. Because of this, schools such as Graham Hill elementary are preparing school lessons and supply kits that are going to be available for pick-up on a day at the beginning of the month. While many parents and guardians can pick up supplies for their students from the schools directly, many are not due to work hours, transportation constraints and child care, to name a few. This is where the Pedaling Relief Project has been stepping in! Since the beginning of the school year, we have been working with Graham Hill Elementary School and the school district to allow our volunteers to deliver valuable supplies to student’s homes by bicycle. So far we have delivered school supplies to more than 200 students!

We are looking to expand this volunteer school delivery service to other public schools in the city over the coming weeks. If you are a teacher, parent, or volunteer at a school please let us know if you would be interested in helping us connect. We love supporting teachers, students and their families to reduce barriers to success during these difficult times. Thank you!

What we will be delivering
We will be delivering manila folders or bags packed with much of the supplies that a student might need for a month of online school in it (roughly 5-7lbs). The bag contains basic supplies for school: pencils, notebook, folders, crayons, etc. There may also be some textbooks depending on the grade level.

See the available dates posted in the sign-up form below. Generally we deliver school supplies for Graham Hill Elementary School on the first or second Friday of every month!
