Muscat Dog Adoption - Adoption Application Form
How our adoption process works:
Adoption process:
1) You will complete the application form and those details will be used to review your situation and experience to determine if you are a good match with the dog you are interested in adopting.
2) If your application is successful, you will be invited to the pound to meet your assigned adoption coordinator and the dogs at the pound. Your adoption coordinator may want to meet you again at the pound before proceeding with the adoption process. When it seems appropriate to continue, we move onto step 3.
3) Two of our adoption coordinators will conduct a home check of your property. We like to check that the property is suitable and secure for the dog and it is also a good chance for you to ask us any further questions you might have about the dog.
4) If the home check is successful, you will be able to bring the dog home for a foster to adopt trial. This is to ensure the dog is a good fit for your family and vice versa. The trial is 10 days for a puppy younger than three months old and can be up to a month for dogs over the age of three months. Once the trial is complete, you should be able to tell if the dog is a good fit for your family - some people know after one day!
5) If the trial period has been successful, you will be able to officially adopt the dog! This means we move on to the paperwork with an adoption agreement form to sign.
6) Lastly, there is an adoption fee to be paid (RO80). This fee includes; vaccinations for the first year, initial flea, tick and worm treatment and neutering.
Additional information:
- Puppies MUST be neutered when they are six months old. This is a MUST when adopting a puppy.
- We highly recommend that you get your dog microchipped. This cost is not included in the adoption fee although many of our dogs have already been microchipped.
- If you are an expat, you will need to research the costs involved in taking your dog back to your home country when you repatriate. If you do not intend to take your dog back with you, please do not fill out an application form.
