New Mexico Paid Student Teaching Fund
This Request for Application (RFA) from the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) is designed to promote and support paid student teaching in approved educator preparation programs at New Mexico public post-secondary educational institutions and tribal colleges.

Completed applications must be received by 11:59:59 PM on April 29, 2022.

Awards will be announced by at beginning of June, 2022.

Purpose of the Grant
To promote and support educator preparation programs that ensure the diversity of the teaching profession in New Mexico while filling high-need teaching positions in the state.
Eligibility
All approved educator preparation programs at New Mexico public post-secondary educational institutions and tribal colleges are eligible to apply.
 
Minimum Requirements
Each student teacher would qualify for a one-time, one-semester stipend for student teaching. Amount dependent on number of applications and total amount awarded to each student will be decided by NMPED.

I understand that if awarded our program will be responsible for providing the NMPED with the following data on or before July 1, 2023:

Names, email addresses, and license numbers of program completers.
District and School where student teaching took place.
Names, email addresses, and license number of mentor teacher.

Additionally I understand that if awarded work may not begin until funds are allocated to the program by the NMPED.
