MPES PTA Board Nomination Form
Only current members may be nominated. Please use a separate form for each nominee. Please ask the member for his or her consent to be nominated before submitting to the nominating committee. Forms must be submitted by April 10th.

Suggested Qualifications for all officers: Knowledgeable about and adheres to the Purposes and basic policies of PTA. Experienced in PTA or other organizational work. Has a sense of just and fairness. Exhibits enthusiasm for PTA. Willingness to make PTA a high priority for his/her schedule relative to the responsibilities and duties of the position.

We have four roles that are eligible for the executive board that will be filled by voting at our general PTA meeting on April 25th at 630pm via Zoom.

The executive board positions are (these are 2 school year term roles):

Co-President: Direct the affairs of the association in cooperation with Executive Committee and represent PTA members. Develop a year-long plan of action; oversee and interact with all PTA officers and activities; interact with school administration; Presides at all meetings of the general membership; Knows and follows the bylaws of the association; appoints chairpersons on standing committees according to bylaws.

VP of Volunteers: The VP Volunteers will recruit, schedule, and manage volunteers for the PTA. This person will work closely with Chairs and Coordinators to determine volunteer needs for all PTA events throughout the school year. Works with the PTA co-president, principal and teachers to coordinate volunteer assignments at the school to support student success. Works with the Hospitality/Business Liaison Chair to schedule and coordinate Spirit Nights with local businesses.

Treasurer: Be responsible for and have custody of all funds; make disbursements as properly authorized; be present at all PTA events where money will be collected; assure that PTA policies and best practices are followed with regards to funds; prepare financial reports from Quickbooks for each meeting and as needed; prepare the books for an annual audit, file taxes, and maintain insurance and incorporation for good standing with the PTA. (Effort: 4-5 hours per month, average)

Secretary: Keep the minutes of all general meetings and all meeting of the Executive Board; prepare correspondence and perform all other duties assigned; maintain PTA bylaws and file new board positions with GA PTA;  help recruit committee chairpersons for all vacant standing committees of the board; keep the calendar of events for the PTA.  (Effort: 3-4 hours per month, includes attending meeting and typing up minutes)
