Dear Parents/Guardians:

It is that time of year again when school is still in session and parents must start thinking about what to do with their children for the summer!!! Things are just not as simple as they used to be as we faced unimaginable circumstances when Covid-19 shook the world to its core.

The impact it had and continues to have on families is something that cannot be ignored. We especially cannot overlook the effect it has had on our children. As we look to the summer, we must think about more than just a fun place to send our children. We must consider what they have been through and put our children in an environment that fosters healing and resiliency.

With that need in mind, The Greater Norristown Area Ministerium will be conducting a City-Wide Open Air Vacation Bible School, FREE of charge to all families attending! The VBS will take place from Monday, July 12 – Friday, August 20, 2021 at 2 different outdoor locations – 3 Weeks at Skag Cottman Park, (July 12 – July 30), and 3 Weeks at 506 Haws Ave. (August 2 – August 20).

The VBS Sessions will be from 9AM – 4PM daily. There will also be an evening VBS for the entire family from 6pm – 8pm. We will have a Bible based lesson every day, and the theme for the 6 weeks will be, “You Were Born with A Purpose.” In addition to the Bible based curriculum, there will be fun activities, arts and crafts, sports, and a culminating ceremony on Friday, August 20 @ 6PM at Eisenhower Middle School where the kids will showcase what they have learned during VBS. Along with the fun activities and the Bible based curriculum, we also want to offer social and emotional support for our students as they prepare to return to school in the fall.

The Church community recognizes that it is our responsibility to be the practical hands and feet of Christ. In preparation for the Vacation Bible School in the summer we recognize that each child who attends represents a family that may have other needs which the church community can meet, so for us to better understand your needs we are asking that you take part in this short survey. We want you to feel heard as we work towards making a greater impact in the Norristown Community.

Registration begins on Monday, May 17, 2021 and will end on Monday, June 14, 2021.  Please bear in mind that spaces are limited, and that registration will be on a first-come basis, so register as soon as possible.
