IVA Public Participation Request Form
There are three ways to directly participate in IVA board meetings:
  1. Address the Board regarding items already on the agenda.
  2. Address the Board regarding a school business item that is not on the agenda.
  3. Request that a new item be placed on the agenda for an upcoming meeting.
To ensure an equal sharing opportunity is offered to all those wishing to participate, up to ten participants will be allotted three minutes each to speak on items that are already on the agenda, and up to ten participants will be allotted three minutes each to speak on any school business matters not already on the agenda.

Addressing the Board Regarding Agenda Items
You may address the Board on agenda items, before action is taken, by completing this request form ahead of the board meeting. At each meeting the Board Chair will open up the floor for public comment on agenda items. If ten or fewer members of the public wish to speak during that time, the Board Chair will recognize all wishing to speak, even if this request was not submitted beforehand. Persons will be allowed to speak in the order in which the requests are received.

By completing this request form you may also address the Board on agenda items that are not on the agenda. At each meeting the Board Chair will open up the floor for public comment on non-agenda items. If ten or fewer members of the public wish to speak during that time, the Board Chair will recognize all wishing to speak, even if this request was not submitted beforehand. Persons will be allowed to speak in the order in which the requests were received.

Please note that the only limited board discussion may take place regarding any item that is not already listed on the agenda. After receiving public testimony; however, any member of the board may recommend placing such item(s) on the agenda of a future meeting or refer the item(s) to staff for additional follow-up.

Placing an Item on the Agenda
You may place matters directly related to school district business on the agenda by filling out this request form. Written requests must be received at least 10 working days prior to the meeting date and will be forwarded to Howie Fitzgerald, chairman of the board of directors. The Board Chair or designee will determine whether the matter is directly related to school district business. 

If there is additional support material you would like the board to review as part of your request, please deliver it to the school office directly or else email to richard.williams@ivalonbeach.org once you have completed this form.
