Technology Empowerment Center:      Computer Recipient Application
REQUIREMENTS:
To receive a computer from the Technology Empowerment Center, you must meet requirements listed below:

-Be a permanent resident of the Twin Cities metro area
-Fill out Computer Recipient application

Fulfill the Technology Empowerment Center’s Basic Computer Course Program:

Basics and Computer Skills Course
Typing and Computer Basics Class
Email and the Internet Class
Computer Maintenance

-After you’ve completed the requirements for the program you will able to purchase and pick up a computer through the Technology Empowerment Center
-Pay $50 at the time of computer pick up

*Reminder if you do not come on your scheduled pick up day, you will have to call and reschedule.

If you do not meet the income requirements listed below, you have the option to purchase a computer at a very low cost of $120 or $100 for non-profits.

INCOME ELIGIBILITY
To receive a computer from Technology Empowerment Center, you must live in the Twin Cities area, have some type of income and fall below the 150% poverty level.  

Below are the current poverty guidelines.

For those who fall under the income guidelines and may be receiving government assistance, documentation for the application process includes any of the following:

MFIP benefits statement
General Assistance (GA) benefits statement
The prior year's state, federal or tribal tax return
Three consecutive months’ worth of income statements from an employer or paycheck stubs within the current calendar year
A Veteran Administration statement of benefits
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Social Security statement
An Unemployment/Workmen's Compensation statement of benefits
Federal or tribal notice letter of participation in General Assistance
Class enrollment for college bound students

All applicants must come to our office and provide proof of address and income.
NOTE: WE ONLY ALLOW ONE COMPUTER PER HOUSEHOLD
