2023 Citizens Police Academy
The Citizens Police Academy is a free course presented by the Bloomington Police Department. Each Monday evening between September 5* and November 6, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm, you'll meet members of BPD and learn about a different aspect or specialty of policing. You'll learn about hostage negotiation, police social work, critical incident response, emergency driving, firearms training, defensive tactics, domestic violence response, dispatching, criminal investigations, narcotics investigations, evidence, police canines, record keeping, crime analysis, and more.

All citizens 18 years of age or older to welcome to register by completing the application form below. Please apply soon, as space is limited.

*Note that week 1 meets on Tuesday Sept. 5, as Monday Sept. 4 is Labor Day.
