International Women’s Day 2022 (IWD) features the theme of “Changing Climates - Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”, envisioning a world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive, a world in which difference is valued and celebrated. This global movement offers a special opportunity for The Museum of World Religions (MWR) and Red Room Association (RRA) to host and promote discussions about the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women in Taiwan.

Having hosted IWD events in each of the last seven years, spanning art, performance, seminars and educational experiences, Red Room is especially excited to partner with another Taiwan-based non-profit to amplify this year’s IWD celebration. As two of Taiwan’s foremost cultural organizations, MWR and RRA will form the leading voice for women in Taiwan this March.

This year will be the first time the MWR celebrates International Women’s Day. The Museum of World Religions belongs to all faiths. “The public mission of MWR is to introduce and promote love and peace, which comprise the founding philosophy of MWR, in hopes that a society led by nobler spirits may overflow with joy and tranquility. In these contemporary times, such is our grave and pressing responsibility within our society, ” Ma Yu-Chuan, Director MWR.
