Trees for Oakland is planting street trees under the umbrella of Oakland Parks and Recreation Foundation. If you are interested in requesting a tree and starting the process, please fill out the information required below to start your Tree Request.

Once the request is received, you will be contacted by a volunteer to set up a visit to your home. Please be patient because we are working through a backlog of requests.

Financial Assistance for Tree Costs
All of the labor that goes into organizing, digging, and planting the tree is completely volunteer-run and free of charge. However, there are still costs attached to purchasing the tree (between $100-200). Your contribution helps to cover these costs, and may also help to cover the costs of other trees in your community!

If you are willing to help cover costs, your request will get priority and we will be able to arrange your tree within the next few months. If you are unable to pay, you can still submit a request, but will only get a tree planted when enough donations have been collected to cover your costs.

By submitting this form, I agree to hold the Tree Team harmless from any damage or injury caused by reason of planting, placement, maintenance, or removal of the plants. The owner(s) of the property are solely liable for any damages, including the cost of replacement trees. I agree as the property owner (or will sign an agreement with the owner) to be responsible for watering the tree, removing leaves from the sidewalk and street area, keeping the tree wells free of weeds, litter, etc., and for preventing tripping hazards by maintaining the tree well at grade with the sidewalk. I certify that the above information is correct. I agree to water the tree weekly (at least 5 gallons) for 2 to 3 years. * *
