Mid City West Slow Streets
Slow Streets are streets designated for people to walk, run, bike, and otherwise use the street space while maintaining social distancing during COVID-19. They are designed to eliminate cut through traffic and make the streets safer for all.

Slow streets work by placing a cone and sign at each end of the block, asking cars to slow down and indicating the street as a slow street. Cars, emergency vehicles, and trash vehicles can still pass through, and parking is not impacted.

On May 23, 2020, Mid City West rolled out slow streets on the following streets:

Formosa between Willoughby and Rosewood
Rosewood between Formosa and Hayworth
Hayworth between Rosewood and Oakwood
Oakwood between Hayworth and Sweetzer
Sweetzer between Oakwood and Colgate

We hope to be able to expand this to more streets soon. We would love your feedback on this program below! You can also email slowstreets@midcitywest.org.
