Rules related to Optional Courses Selection
1. Students are required to register for at least 26 credits (Including ENH 3201) for the year.
2. Once a student registered for a course, he/ she will not be permitted to change the selection. If a student is absent for a registered course evaluation, the corresponding mark is taken as zero unless a valid reason is produced in writing which is approved by the board.
3. Students will be allowed to register for 05 credits over and above the required optional credits in the academic year. However, only the required number of credits are used for GPA calculation and the best set of optional courses will be included in the required number of credits.The grades of all the required credits and 05 additional credits selected by the students will be included in the academic transcript.
4. UCSC will reserve the option of not offering a particular course/s for the current academic year under certain circumstances. In such an event, UCSC will inform the students what this/these course(s)is/are and will give additional time to register for (an) alternative course/s.
5. Students who have been selected for the Honours Degree (4th year) are required to register for all the compulsory courses of their respective degree programmes (mentioned under “BSc Hons in CS” and “BSc Hons in SE” columns in the 3rd year subject selection table below at section 3 and section 4 respectively). Students who wish to follow up to the 3rd year only are required to register for all the compulsory courses mentioned under “BSc in CS” column of the 3rd year subject selection table at section 2.
