Patchen Community Square Membership Form 2024
Patchen Community Square is a Green Thumb community garden located at the corner of Patchen Avenue & Putnam Avenue in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.
Community gardens don't just exist IN communities, they ARE communities, consisting of the land, the plants and animals that live there, and of course the people who work together to make the garden grow. Our members are what give our garden life, color, and character.
We're so glad you'd like to join (or rejoin) our garden!
Steps to membership:
1. Fill out this form. You will choose your membership category and (if applicable) make your team selection(s).
2. Pay your membership fee (see below for options).
Then:
3. Participate! Attend a meeting, host open hours, participate in a work day, etc. (We're also working on updating a short orientation packet that will be shared with you for background on the garden!)
4. After participation in 2 garden work days or meetings.... Receive your garden key!
Once you've completed steps 1 and 2, you'll be added to our Google Group (for emailing). You'll also receive an email welcoming you to a specific garden team to participate in throughout the season.
Members must be at least 16 years old, and all members under 18 should have a parent or guardian's permission to participate in the garden. General and Private Plot members have the right to vote on garden policy; access to communal tools; and the ability to plant and harvest within communal areas. (Communal areas include communal plots and around the outer fence line.) All members are responsible for complying with garden rules.
We look forward to seeing you in the garden!
