About: In the Spring Valley 4-H Youth Environmental Task Force, high school students from the East Ramapo School District will develop skills, connect with peers, and have a positive impact on their community. Led by local organizations, members will complete service-learning activities at Spring Valley Memorial Park and work together to create and implement an environmental service project.

Who is Eligible?
  • 9th - 12th Grade Students in the East Ramapo School District
  • Can commit to all sessions and the service project
  • Work well in a team
  • Enjoy being outside
  • Excited to improve Spring Valley Memorial Park
Tentative Schedule:
Monday - Friday, August 19 - 23, 1:00pm - 3:30pm
  1. August 19 - Team-Building and Park Assessment
  2. August 20 - Park Maintenance, Safety, and Challenges
  3. August 21 - Water Quality and Soil Health
  4. August 22 - Invasive and Native Species
  5. August 23 - Brook Clean-up and Celebration
Benefits:
  • $10 stipend for each session attended (plus snacks)
