An opportunity to become more involved in the Public Libraries Division, and to have a voice in how we can better serve Texas Public Libraries.

We are looking for member involvement to serve on the following committees:

MEMBERSHIP: The Membership Committee shall provide active and diverse membership in PLD and is responsible for planning the annual general membership meeting and membership party.

PROGRAMMING: The Programming Committee plans and executes all programs and pre-conferences for PLD. Our soon to be Immediate Past Chair, Elizabeth Sargent, will be the Programming Chair for the 2021 Conference, and she and the team she has in place are collecting ideas for programs that they'd love to have help developing.

SCHOLARSHIP: The Scholarship Committee establishes criteria for annual grants to encourage members attendance at annual conference, as well as to help offset costs for Tall Texans, for members who have been accepted. The committee shall also critique applications and award grants as funded in the PLD budget.

SOCIAL MEDIA: The goal is to work within TLA guidelines to establish and maintain a social media presence for PLD. The committee provides some continuity with social media as officers change over. Seeking interest especially from those with social media experience, particularly those who oversee or are involved with social media at their libraries.

WEBMASTER: Assisting with making updates to the PLD webpage and uploading appropriate changes as needed. Experience with the Wordpress platform is helpful.
