*APPLICATION PART 1*
Thank you for your interest in applying to be a part of the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival Queen Program. The Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival Queen Program prides itself on being a women's leadership program that connects women of Japanese descent to their community and culture.

This is Part 1 of the application. It is brief and gives us an opportunity to collect basic contact information of applicants in our pipeline. Part 2 of the application is significantly longer and requires submission of a speech, personal statement, resume, letter of recommendation, and a recent photo.

*IMPORTANT DATES*
Application Deadline: 5:00pm, Friday, November 5th, 2021  
Interviews via Zoom: The Morning of Sunday, November 21st
Orientation via Zoom: Wednesday December 1st 6:30pm -8:00pm
Online Classes and Trainings via Zoom: Wednesdays 6:30pm - 8:00pm  Starting Dec 8th, 2021
In-Person Rehearsals in SF Japantown: Sundays 9am to 12:30pm Starting January 9th 2022
Date of the 2022 Queen Program:  Saturday, April 2, 2022

*REQUIREMENTS*
Some of the qualifications to be eligible to apply as a candidate for the Northern California Cherry Blossom Court are as follows:
–  be a female of at least 19 years of age and not more than 27 years of age by the first festival weekend in April
–  be of at least 50% Japanese ancestry
–  have been or currently an active participant/volunteer in a community organization
–  have been a resident of Northern California for at least 2 or 3 years, depending on citizenship
