The Malaysia Lysosomal Diseases Association chose the sloth as the official mascot for the organisation.

MLDA identifies the sloth for its strength and tenacity in not letting others bother their every day routine. This resonates with our patients where they too do not allow others to dictate what they can or cannot do by keeping a positive outlook on life and pushing through impossible boundaries. They understand and realise their conditions, but this has never been a hindrance in continuing to hope for the best treatments and medications so they can live their lives to the fullest.In this, just like the sloth, our patients are determined to reach for the impossible.
