POSITIVE DISCIPLINE IN THE CLASSROOM - PDC
This two-day interactive workshop is designed for teachers, counselors, school staff and administrators who want an effective discipline approach that integrates social and emotional learning while reducing challenging student behaviors. Attendees will earn recognition as a Certified Positive Discipline Classroom Educator and will learn to:
1. Develop a large teaching toolbox of kind and firm discipline approaches.
2. Establish explicit classroom structures and procedures.
3. Create an equitable classroom community based on mutual respect.
4. Understand the motivation behind students' misbehavior and how to encourage positive change.
5. Facilitate effective class meetings teaching social skills and problem-solving.
6. Learn Positive Discipline/Adlerian Psychology for use in the classroom and school community.
This Workshop provides professional development for Educators to use Positive Discipline in their school or classroom setting. It is designed for you to implement Positive Discipline program with its tools and principles with the children and adolescents you work with in your prepared environment or class.
MATERIALS INCLUDED
You will receive the following materials in English
- Positive Discipline in the Classroom, The Revised 4th Edition Book by Lynn Lott, Jane Nelsen and Stephen Glenn. It provides more non-punitive strategies to create a classroom where students are learning self-discipline, responsibility, mutual respect, and problem-solving skills.
- Teachers' Guide, designed to create a respectful classroom and school climate through social emotional learning, character education and effective discipline. It provides short, simple, clear lesson plans that you can easily integrate into your daily curriculum.
- Leaders' Guide: This Guide includes some of the activities you will do during the 2-day PDC so that you can later review what you have done and learned from them. It will also serve you well if you decide to pursue advanced training to qualify you to teach adults. As you become more proficient with PD in your classroom, you might select a few of these activities to share with your own staff in order to encourage them to seek PD training.
