BNZ KiwiHoops Term 1 (Year 5 - 6) 2025
Kiwi Hoops is an after school, skill based basketball program developed by Basketball New Zealand.

The program is designed for years 1– 4 as an introduction to basketball and a pathway to miniball.

The Year 1 & 2 sessions are based on FUN but incorporate basic ball and co-ordination skills. Years 3 & 4 sessions are mostly skill development with the opportunity to play games.

As an extension of the Kiwi Hoops program we have developed an intro to basketball designed for kids in year 5 and 6. This program is aimed at introducing and developing fundamental basketball skills in a fun, safe space. Greater emphasis will be placed on learning the rules of the game from year 5 onward.

Players need no prior basketball experience. The lessons are taken by experienced coaches on Mondays and Tuesdays and will run for 8 weeks during term 4, at Jack Robins Stadium, 104 Neale Ave, Stoke.

Parents and guardians will be welcome to come watch from the seating upstairs.

By registering I hereby give permission for my child to attend the Nelson Basketball Association(NBA)'s Training Programme. I give permission for NBA staff/coaches to seek any urgent medical attention that they deem necessary. I give NBA permission to use photographs of my child for use in any media for promotion of basketball, NBA or its programmes. I understand NBA reserves the right not to refund any of the registration fee due to the above named not attending the programme and that NBA (including employees, volunteers and contractors) does not take any responsibility for your child's person or property, including any injury or illness, your child may suffer during the Programme. I also understand that payment of $70.00 will be required to secure my child's spot in the Programme.
