Communication Studies Internship Application Form

Please review all internship requirements and information. Once you have SECURED an internship opportunity, please fill out this form to be enrolled in a class.

Internship Requirements:
The internship has several components to complete in order to earn credit. Overall, the internship is a pass/fail class. A passing grade requires earning 70% or above.

• You will be required to track your work hours by submitting a department-provided time log. The expectations are 50 hours with the organization/office per credit, meaning a three-credit internship course requires you to complete 150 hours of work.
• You will participate in a pre- and post-survey about your internship experience.
• You will need to complete a series of 5 journal entries.
• You will be required to conduct a performance evaluation with your on-site supervisor.
• You will be required to complete a final web portfolio.

Internship Course Details:
COMM 492 is the credited internship required for graduation and can be repeated. COMM 392 can serve as a COMM or Open Electives course option. The hours and submission requirements for successfully completing the internship course are the same for COMM 392 and COMM 492. Individual course descriptions, restrictions and requirements can be viewed online or through DegreeWorks.
