About the celebration
What
The Chilterns Celebration is a festival to engage communities across the Chilterns with the unique heritage and landscape of the region through a range of exciting and educational events and workshops. Combining arts, heritage, conservation, performance, music and much more, the festival brings together young people, schools, communities and volunteers in a range of events and locations.
The call for expressions of interest to be involved in the Celebration is open now and will close at 12-noon on Monday February 1st 2021
Why/ About/ Key Audiences
This Celebration enables a diversity of people to participate in events that celebrate the heritage and landscape of the region, engaging new audiences in the work of the Chalk, Cherries and Chairs Landscape Partnership and encouraging people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy and explore the Chilterns. This celebration is also an opportunity to promote local businesses.
This celebration is the perfect time to try something new, explore a new place, and meet new people in your community or further afield.
Our key audiences for this revised Chilterns Celebration are young and diverse urban audiences. We are keen to engage new groups through this month of celebration and showcase all that the Chilterns has to offer, which these groups may be less aware of.
When
The Spring Celebration takes place across the Chilterns from April 8-15
Who
The Chilterns Celebration is organised by the Chalk, Cherries and Chairs Landscape Partnership, in partnership with the Chilterns Walking Festival and other local festivals during this time.
Where
The Chilterns Celebration will engage communities across the Chilterns, with events taking place across urban and rural locations.
We are planning on running a limited number of events in High Wycombe and Amersham, focusing on heritage, taster sessions and volunteering. If you are interested in being part of these events, instead of running your own event or offering an online resource, please let us know below.
How
There will be talks and workshops, guided walks and family-friendly events. Most events will be free of charge and open to the public, with sign up forms created (to keep numbers in keeping with current COVID restrictions).
Where possible, we are looking for OUTDOOR or ONLINE events/ activities.
The Celebration can promote your event (e.g. a workshop, walk, or community event) in the programme or you can choose to bring your activity or business to one of our town centre events. We will provide support and marketing before the Festival and can manage ticketing and evaluation.
Events should be in keeping with current government guidelines regarding social distancing, so we encourage potential exhibitors to consider short taster sessions, larger areas (to allow for social distancing), outdoor events and online resources to accommodate this.
