Our support from Vox runs through February 28, 2023 - which happens to be the midst of an exciting Sabres season, and a few days prior to the NHL trade deadline.

While there are a lot of uncertainties at this point, including what our future financial costs may be to run the site, we greatly appreciate your interest. We are currently awaiting updates from Vox about acquiring our site/brand name, domain, etc., and our goal is to ensure minimal disruption in our coverage as the Sabres' season continues. Our work is valuable and important, and our community is eager to learn about next steps!

In the interest of full transparency, as of January 2023, our current budget for paying staff is $800/month. This covers a managing editor, two editors and two staff writers. Our budget was previously cut by Vox in October 2022 from $1300/month. These amounts don't factor in the new costs we'll be facing, such as potentially buying our brand name, securing the domain, etc. or otherwise starting fresh with a new moniker. Ideally, we would love to continue paying our staff to provide in-depth, consistent coverage of the Sabres at at least the same level of pay, in addition to funding website hosting, etc.
