Intro to Green Map Dunoon training
Thank you for taking an interest in the Green Map Dunoon training opportunity.
The training aims to give people the skills to use Green Map making tools. These include the digital Green Map platform and the Green Map icons. We want to empower people to create their own Green Maps in their community, so they can highlight social and environmental issues and share information simply and effectively.
You can learn more about Green Map making

We aim to make the training accessible to people over the age of 18 years old, including people with care responsibilities and people on low and unstable incomes.
Good to know:
- You do not need any specialist skills to apply in this training opportunity.
- Opportunities are open to people over the age of 18 only.
- Access to the internet and a laptop is helpful, but if you don't have either of these things we can provide them.
- The commitment is 12 hours.
- Time will be divided up between online evening Green Map training sessions and lunch time walk and talk sessions led by a local person with a specialist knowledge of issues like Biodiversity, Active Travel and Cultural Heritage.
- Online evening sessions will be recorded, so if you cannot attend a live session, there is the option of learning flexibly, so please don't be put off applying if evenings are not convenient to you.
- There are 8 places available on the training. 4 places are for volunteers and community based organisations, 4 places are paid-to-take-part at a Living Wage level. These places are for people who are not in a position to volunteer. We are particularly keen to hear from young people and people with caring responsibilities.
- Priority will be given to people living in the Dunoon and Cowal Area.
- Travel costs and any other volunteer expenses can be covered.
- Deadline for expressions of interest Friday 17th Feb, 2023.
- We will let you know the outcome by Tuesday 22nd Feb.
- Sessions will take place in March / April 2023, the first session will take place Friday 3rd March in Dunoon.
